Privacy policy.

What the Observatory and the Slop Report newsletter do with your data, and how to remove it.

Controller

YIRIWA, LLC, a Delaware company (United States), operates the Observatory and sends the Slop Report. Contact: info@kaneme.com.

Analyzed text and context review

Browser rules process the text locally. The text and context review answers are not sent to YIRIWA, LLC or stored on its servers. During an interface language switch, a temporary copy of the draft may remain in this tab’s storage and is removed after restoration. Avoid sensitive data.

If you click “Rewrite in my voice”, the text and the list of flagged passages open in Kaneme through the page address, without going through the Observatory’s servers. Kaneme processes them under its own privacy policy.

Feedback and case proposals

With explicit consent, feedback contains your assessment, reported changes, an optional comment, method version and diagnostic counts, never the analyzed text. A case proposal voluntarily contains the medium, public URL, excerpt and reason for review. Nothing is published automatically. A local copy may support retry after a failed submission.

Slop Report newsletter

If you subscribe, we keep your email address, interface language, where you signed up (home or result), the dates of the request and of the confirmation, and the version of the consent wording. The address is used only to send the Slop Report and is never sold.

Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect issues already sent.

Double opt-in: the subscription only becomes active after you click the link sent by email, valid for 48 hours. Without confirmation, nothing is sent and the address is erased within 7 days. A new signup needs a new confirmation and updates the consent date.

Unsubscribe: every issue includes an unsubscribe link, and the confirmation email contains a personal link. Unsubscribing stops the sends and removes the address from the Slop Report list at the email provider, which only keeps a record of the opt-out so that no Slop Report email is sent to you again. Our databases erase the address within 30 days.

Email provider: Resend, a company established in the United States, sends the emails and keeps the subscriber list on behalf of YIRIWA, LLC. It processes the address, the language and technical delivery events (delivery, bounce, complaint, unsubscribe).

Audience measurement

The site counts six actions: page view, example loaded, analysis started, analysis completed, error and feedback sent. The database receives only the action type, day, method version, interface language, selected text language and an aggregate total. No text, cookie, identifier or detailed URL is sent, and nothing is kept on your device. You can opt out with the button at the bottom of this page. That choice is kept in your browser. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, you are never counted. Older counts remain separate without an assumed language.

Purposes and grounds

Feedback helps improve the method. Proposals help document new cases. Sending follows your request and consent. The newsletter relies on your consent. Audience measurement and abuse protection rely on the legitimate interest of YIRIWA, LLC in understanding product use without identifying anyone and in keeping the forms usable. You can object to audience measurement at any time.

Abuse protection

For each request to the service, including forms and audience measurement, the service temporarily converts the network address provided by the host into a salted cryptographic fingerprint. After 48 hours without a request, the counter becomes eligible for daily cleanup, normally within 72 hours. Hosting providers may keep their own technical logs.

Hosting and recipients

This site is hosted by Vercel Inc. (United States). Voluntary submissions, counters and newsletter signups use Supabase in Central Europe. Slop Report emails go through Resend. These providers may process technical logs under their own policies.

Transfers outside the European Union

YIRIWA, LLC is established in the United States, as are Resend and the site host, so your data may be processed in the United States. These transfers are covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent mechanism. You can request a copy of the applicable safeguards at info@kaneme.com.

Retention and rights

Feedback and proposals are purged after 24 months, aggregate counts after 25 months and abuse fingerprints after 48 hours of inactivity plus the next daily purge. An unconfirmed address is erased within 7 days, an unsubscribed address within 30 days. A subscribed address is kept until you unsubscribe. Failures must be fixed and expired data removed. Local queues expire after seven days and are deleted on the next site visit (or while it is open). You can export or delete them earlier. Nothing is sent automatically.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability, and withdraw your consent, at info@kaneme.com.

You may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr), or with the supervisory authority of the EU member state where you live, work or where the alleged infringement took place.
